The Mellon Country Hotel is a family owned hotel, ideally located just outside Omagh, on the A5 road to Derry and just next door to the Ulster American Folk Park.  The Mellon Country Hotel is an ideal venue for functions or weddings. An elegant and chic location that will make any occasion seem even more special. A warm and friendly atmosphere and just a stones’ throw from home, sure what more could you ask for!

Whatever your requirements, the Mellon Country Hotel is ideal for both business and pleasure. The newly refurbished hotel has a function room with a capacity of 250 and an upstairs function room ideal for smaller private parties.  It also is a great place for meetings with a conference room and 16 fresh and contemporary bedrooms, all with en-suite.

Mahoney brothers, Michael and Timmy, originally from Augher but now residing in New York, have out done themselves with the extensive facelift given to the hotel. The plush and glamorous interior was designed by George Mahon from Derry. George has been involved in numerous hotel refurbishments and his interior design business¸ Mocha Designs is 14 years old.  George has over 20 years’ experience in both commercial and residential settings.

Every detail has been thought of, the soft muted tones add warmth yet give an airy, spacious feel to the hotel. With the mixed textures of velvet, leather, wood panelling, the whole place exudes luxurious, modern glam with touches of tradition. Vintage prints of local places of interest decorate the walls and lots of familiar faces are employed to cater to your every need. Michael Sharkey is in charge of all the culinary delights that await you and I am already looking forward to my first meal.

March 17th is the official opening of the hotel and traditional music will be playing throughout the day with the highlight being The Whistlin’ Donkeys in the evening, admission £7.  A shuttle bus will operate from the bus depot to the Mellon at regular intervals tomorrow onwards for the convenience of all their patrons.
