St Patrick's Chair and Well
St Patrick's Chair and Well , Altadaven Glen near Augher . A spectacularly beautiful and peaceful spot where it is said that St Patrick rested after banishing the snakes from Ireland. According to folklore, the little well never runs dry and the water is said to cure many ills , especially warts.
The two metre high chair is carved from one huge boulder. The seat and the well can be found within the People's Millennium Forest at Favour Royal Road and the site was said to be dedicated to St Brigid.
⭐ small car park at the entrance
⭐ distance , 0.7 miles
⭐ difficulty rating... the walk is easy but steps to chair and well are steep and can become slippy in the rain. Wouldn't recommend for children.
