Places to go and see in the Omagh area:
Situated just 6 miles from Omagh on the way to Sperrin Mountains, the Gortin Glens Forest Park is a picturesque place for many activities. From first opening in 1967 and spanning nearly 1534 hectares, the park delivers many trails, fun and educational activities.
The Forest Drive - a 5 mile long drive through the park with some breathtaking views
Education and Orienteering Trails - these are designed for easy use by both schools and youth organisations. They can be tailored to suit all ages and abilities. For more info contact the Head Forester
Way Marked Trails - A range of colour coded trails starting from the main car park providing the visitor the chance to enjoy the Parks natural beauty at its best.
Nature Trail - A 2km educational trail providinginformation points along the way for the whole family
Pollan Trail - A 2km trail following the Pollan Burn as it makes its way down the mountainside. The breathtaking waterfall is the centerpiece of this trail.
Ladies View Trail - A 3.5km strenuous but rewarding trail following up the route of the Pollan Burn. This is a trail for those who enjoy exercise. It rises to a point of 350 metres giving a fantastc view of surrounding area.
Horse riding - the park has faclities for these more activities but a Daily or Annual Permit must be obtained from the Head Forester. The trail takes in the circular route of the Glengowna area (around 7km)
Mountain Biking- a new course has been added to the site.
Beauty on our own doorstep. A peaceful walk in the Glens on a crisp day. It's been a while since I was here last and the carvings of the animals are new to me ♡
